Guy 1: Wha...?

-Guy 1 notices that the girl carrying a sword. And thinks to himself.- " Wait a minute-- the girl's got a sword which means..."

-Guy 2 points at the girl.-

Guy 1: Are you... Kaede!?

-Suddently theres a voice from the back.- "You're a Karinin, aren't you?!

-Guy 1 notices a small creature laying on top of him.-

Kaede: Father!

Kaede: Uh... is it just me, or are you really small?

-Guy 2 gets angry.- "Isn't it obvious? Of course I'm small!"

Kaede: Father? What's a "Karinin"?

Guy 2: They're people who hunt demons for money. All of 'em wear arm-bands like this guy-- Three band's with red stones in them. Listen up, Kaede. Don't go near the Karinin. Out of all humans, they're the ones you can trust the least.

-Kaede points to Guy 1.- What are you called?

Guy 1: "Called?" Oh, you mean my name?

-Guy 2 glares at Kaede.- Hey! Don't just ignore me!

Guy 1: I'm Asagi. -Smiles.- It's nice to meet you.

[Guy 1 will now be named Asagi]

-Guy 2 gets angry.- Who said you could start talkin' to my daughter, fool?!

Asagi: Waugh! W-well who are you?

Guy 2: Psh! fine. I'm Kurenai. But I'm also known as Enki, the Demon of Flame! Bet you probably heard o' me, huh?

[Guy 2 will now be named Kurenai]

-Asagi stays quiet.-

Asagi: Nope. Never.

-Kurenai starts yelling.- You're a Karinin and you ain't never heard of me? You a fraud?!

-Asagi laughs.- That's one BIG face! Uhh, anyway, can I ask you a favor?

Kurenai: Hmph. Forget it.

Asagi: Listen! I haven't even asked you anything yet!

Kurenai: You're wasting your time. You wouldn't even be able to draw the Moegi.

Asagi: I wouldn't?

Kurenai: How much do you know?

-Asagi sits down on the floor and begins telling the story.-

Asagi: Um... I heard that a long, long time ago, there was a sword-smith who was half-man, and half-demon. He gathered a hundred and one of the Demon Orbs abd forged a sword-- The Moegi.

Kurenai: I ain't askin' about where it came from. I'm askin' if you know what kind of power it has.

Asagi: Yeah. Whoever gets his hands on this sword gains a hundred and one demonic powers.

Kurenai: I knew that's what you'd be after. Just like the other men and demons... hmph.

Asagi: .............

-Asagi reaches for his sword.-

Kaede: Asagi! Your sword's all worn down.

Asagi: But it was brand new just ten days ago... I use my power to kill monsters.

Kurenai: Hm. I don't sense any demonic power comin' from you.

Asagi: No, Not Demonic power.

-Asagi begins to explain.-

Asagi: I don't really understand it myself. I've had this.... power inside me since I was born. The only way I can get it out is to channel it through a sword. But once I do that, the blade... -Asagi lifts up his sword.- ends up like this.

Kurenai: I see. So you think the Moegi would be able to hold up this "power" of yours.

Kaede: Asagi? Are you "the one who will break the seal"?

Asagi: Huh? The seal?

Kurenai: Shut up, Kaede.

-Kaede snaps.-

Kaede: NO! I'm not gonna shut up!!

Kurenai: Waugh!

Kaede: Father! If we don't find a way to get you back to normal, I'll never be able to see the real you! I don't knoq. It makes me feel kinda lonely! Aren't you?

Kurenai: Lonely? Wha...? 'Course I ain't lonely. Hmph.

-Kaede starts sobbing.- I HATE YOU!! -Kaede gets up and enters the old temple.-

-Kurenai sighs.-

Kurenai: What's her prblem? Even if she is my daughter, I just don't get that girl.

Asagi: .....

-Asagi gets up and enters the temple.-

-Asagi notices Kaede laying on the ground, still sobbing.-

-Kaede looks at Asagi.- Asagi....

Asagi: Are you crying?

Kaede: I'm eating because I'm hungry. I get hungry when I cry.

-Asagi sighs.- Oh.

-Asagi sits down besides Kaede.-

Asagi: What did you mean about that seal, and your "real" father?

Kaede: My grandfather told me that my father is sealed inside the Moegi. He also said there's only one man who can free him-- the one chosen by the very human who sealed my father a hundred years ago. And unless the seal is broken, the Moegi can't be drawn.

-Kaede stares at Asagi.- Are you a hundred years old, Asagi?

Asagi: 'Course not! I'm only eighteen.

Kaede: Then I guess it's not you...

Asagi: If you're father goes back to normal, what would you do then?

-Kurenai is listening quietly behind them.-

Kaede: Well.... I'd give him a BIG hug! He can't hug me when he's so small!

-Asagi sighs.- Yeah, guess not...

-Kaede gets sad.- So it really is impossible?

Asagi: Yeah, at least with the way he is now, I mean. Hey! don't look so sad. I'll find the one who will break the seal and let you meet your real father.

Kaede: Really?

Asagi: yeah. My job requires a lot of travel. I'll ask around on the way.

Kaede: Take me with you! We'll search together together! C'mon, promise me, Asagi!

Asagi: Together huh? Okay. It's a promise.

-Kaede jumps on top of Asagi.-

Asagi: Wha?! HEY!

-Kaede hugs Asagi.- You're such a nice guy.

-Asagi smiles and rubs her back.-

-Kurenai suddently jumps on top of Asagi's head.- Hey! Don't go thinkin' you can just take her for yourself! And watch that hand!

Asagi: oops!

Kurenai: By the way, Asagi-- If you're a Karinin, don't you sense... the demonic aura around here?

Asagi: Now that you mention it...

-Boom! Something falls from the top of the temple.-

Asagi: What's that?!

Creature: I smell that Asagi guy. How dare you hunt my son?! I'll make you pay!!
